Privacy statement
Version 1 Oktober 2026
This is a translation of the Dutch text. If there are any differences, the Dutch version applies (switch the language to Nederlands under Settings to read it).
We care about your privacy. We collect as little as possible, and only what is needed to make the Kaasmaakapp work. We never sell data, and there are no ads or tracking cookies in the app.
Who is responsible?
Myrville (myrville.com), the sole proprietorship of Myrjam, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 73315346, Amersfoort, the Netherlands (postal address available on request by email). Privacy questions: hallo@kaasmaakapp.nl.
What data, and what for?
- Your email address, and your name if you give it: to let you log in and to email you about your account, subscription or purchase.
- What you put in the app: own recipes, changes, pantry, shopping list, log, notes and settings. We store these in your account so you have them on all your devices.
- Your subscription or purchase: whether you have a subscription, have bought the app or are trying it for free, and until when. The payment itself goes through Stripe. We never see your bank account or card number.
- Technical data: for each visit, the IP address and time are recorded in the server log. We only use this to secure the app and track down errors.
We do this because it is necessary to perform our agreement with you (your account and your subscription or purchase), because we need to keep the app secure (legitimate interest), and because the law requires us to keep payment records.
Who receives your data?
- Hetzner (Germany): the server the app runs on, in a data centre in the EU.
- Stripe (Ireland): for payments. Stripe is itself responsible for payment data; see Stripe's privacy statement.
- Anthropic (United States): only when you scan a culture yourself. The photo of the label is then read by Anthropic's AI. So only send a photo of the packet, without other personal things on it. Anthropic does not use that photo to train its AI.
- Consul Hosting (the Netherlands): for sending the login emails.
Agreements have been made with these parties about protecting your data. No other parties receive your data, unless the law requires us to share it.
How long do we keep it?
- Your account and everything you put in the app: as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we erase it immediately. It then remains in our backups for at most 14 days.
- Payment records: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- The server log: at most 30 days.
- A login link is valid for 20 minutes and works only once.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use one cookie, only to keep you logged in. In addition, the app stores data on your own device so it also works without internet. We don't use cookies to track you or for advertising, so you don't need to give consent.
Your rights
You may view, correct or erase your data, and you may object. Much of this you can do yourself in the app: change your data, download a backup of everything under Settings, and delete your account under Account. For anything else, email us and we will arrange it within a month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your own country.
Security
The connection to the app is always encrypted. We have no passwords that can leak: you log in with a link that works only once. The server is protected and updated automatically.
